COURSE DESCRIPTION
Certificate III in Children's Services combines classroom learning with
concurrent practical experience in a child care centre to equip graduates
with a solid foundation in the essential competencies required to work as a
centre-based caregiver. Students are able to supplement the theory provided
by the trainers with an ongoing practical work placement.
Graduates will use
organisational policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to
plan activities and provide care for children, facilitating their leisure
and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.
COURSE DURATION
One semester.
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent. Upon acceptance of enrolment, students
need to provide a current medical clearance, and a police clearance.
EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates are trained in the competencies required to work as a child care
assistant, family day carer or nanny.
